Through the generous support from Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport, SportWest have partnered with Access Wellbeing Services (AWS) to provide mental health and wellbeing counselling and critical incident response to the WA sporting community.
Eligible SportWest member organisations can access this program, which offers limited, free, and confidential Employee Assistance Program (EAP) counselling for staff working in the industry.
Additionally, the Volunteer Assistance Program (VAP) provides critical incident response counselling to support clubs and volunteers across the community and will be available for SportWest member organisations to provide to their community and clubs.
The services available are outlined in the infographic below. If you’re unsure whether a specific service is included, please reach out to True Sport before contacting AWS.
For urgent access to EAP or VAP services, eligible and participating member organisations can contact AWS directly. Member organisation staff should mention they are part of the SportWest program and provide their organisation’s name. Clubs and volunteers should reference their parent organisation/SSA when accessing services.
To check your eligibility and learn more about the program, visit the True Sport EAP-VAP FAQ (FAQ).
*Please note that services can now be accessed directly by member SSA staff (EAP) and club volunteers/members (VAP).
