Employee Assistance Program & Volunteer Assistance Program

With support from the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism and Sport, SportWest has partnered with Access Wellbeing Services (AWS) to provide mental health counselling and critical incident support to the WA sporting community.

Eligible SportWest member organisations can access free, confidential EAP counselling for staff, while the Volunteer Assistance Program (VAP) offers critical incident response support for clubs and volunteers.

The services available are outlined in the infographic below. If you’re unsure whether a service is included, please contact the True Sport team before reaching out to AWS.

For urgent EAP or VAP support, eligible member organisations can contact AWS directly. Staff should mention their organisation is part of the SportWest program, and volunteers or clubs should reference their parent organisation/SSA.

For immediate 24/7 support call Access Wellbeing Services on 1300667700

For eligibility and program details, visit the True Sport EAP–VAP FAQ.

*Please note that services can now be accessed directly by member SSA staff (EAP) and club volunteers/members (VAP).

If you feel someone is at an immediate risk, or is in a life threatening situation – call triple zero (000). The Community Links page provides contact details for a range mental health service providers.
